Hold on, sweet sistah! Just hold on...something solid and joyous is on its way to you. It will be the shores of somewhere where rest and living feel possible. You'll breathe easy. In the meantime, take DEEP care :-)

You are a seriously gifted writer. And an all-around beautiful human. Thank you for being you. I wish I could promise you rainbows and daisies, but I won't pretend to have that power. Instead, I will promise to keep helping you reach more people because we NEED your voice.

Thank you for being on my side, Kay. While you can’t promise rainbows and daisies, you do help make this place bearable for me.❤️

Thanks so much for this amazing Toni Morrison clip, and for introducing me to the term 'weathering'.

So many reasons to cry right now...

I think I’ve played that clip 100 times, glad it spoke to you. And there are so, so many reasons - my heart stays broken.

Oh, Robin. Please don’t give up on Mexico. I wish I could win the lottery and pay all your expenses to get there…but maybe there is someone who has. You never know.

And I get the maternal yearning. 52. No kids. Always wanted to be a mom, too. My ex husband even told me he didn’t think I’d be a good mom. It all hurts…and now they wanna take my uterus out. It hurts.

And yes, never stop feeling for dead babies in Gaza, or Sonyas, Trayvons, Eriks, Georges, Ahmads, Maaliks…when we stop crying, we stop being human. But I get the heaviness. When the fuck is the needless killing going to end? I can’t hold it all. You can’t hold it all.

Hang in there, friend. We are here. Take care of yourself as best you can.
