I'm so glad you have your second surgery covered. I know this exact pattern you're describing exactly and it took *so* much more money than I'd hoped or thought necessary to get out of it. You're not crazy or a loser, this is just how poverty is.

I think there should be a group like that, too, as long as it has members who have moved into a new mindset/skillset, so it doesn't turn into a commiseration-only thing. But support would be lovely.

Yes! People that have made it to the other side and could share skills with empathy and understanding. That would be really healing on so many levels.
