I was consulting with a 20 MILLION DOLLAR company about how to increase accessibility to their clinic.
They shared their idea.
Me: No. That ain’t it.
Them: Why?
Me: Because it increases accessibility for some people and excludes others.
Them: Well isn’t some better than none?
Me: Nah. That’s not good enough.
I say this because when it comes to accessibility, I’m from one of the communities that’s usually left behind.
And when it comes to psychedelic therapy, we can’t leave people behind. Repairing the wellness of our society has to be a collective effort.
There are sustainable and equitable ways to make this happen. However, it will require us to expand our vision for what’s possible and build new models. We can’t keep trying to fix the old ones, they’re beyond repair.
I’ve created a model that’s a combination of the Curb Cut Effect and a payment system from Italy termed Caffè sospeso.
I’ve named it: Community Care Credit.
I would break it down here but, no. My brain is tired.
What I will say is that the model:
👉🏽 supports providers in being fully compensated.
👉🏽 allows well resourced individuals who want to repair systemic harm, redistribute the wealth and support their community the opportunity to help.
👉🏽 places zero financial burden on already stretched thin under resourced individuals.
Will it be easy? lol absolutely not. However, it’s possible and deeply needed.
Everyone should have the resources they need to heal.
